One of our latest packaging automation projects is a top load case packer for cartons. Our client was a premium rice processing and merchandising company.
This is the solution we came up with.
The TT-1200T is an intermittent motion case packer that can reach speeds up to 20 cases per minute, depending on clients’ speed requirements and application. This particular model loads cartons at 5 cases per minute. It is designed and built for case packing of rice cartons in a 2×6 and similar patterns in C-Flute RSC corrugated cardboard boxes. This case packaging machine features a compact footprint that allows you to save on your floor space. At the same time, its simplicity and ergonomic design will enable you to pack and prepare your products for shipping and stacking quickly and efficiently.

Operation Overview
Cases are picked from a 36” powered case magazine with a twin chain feed with shaft mounted pressure plate and 1/8 H.P. drive motor with air clutch. A low-level sensor is included, and it signals operators to replenish the cases into the magazine. Reciprocating case feeder with vacuum cup case placers erects the cases on a servo-driven, lugged conveyor. Cases are processed through the machine utilizing a servo-driven, lugged case carrier system which supports the case from the front and the back to ensure squareness during product loading and case closing. Filled and sealed cartons are received lying flat, with the long dimension leading. Cartons enter into the collation system, where 12 (2×6) cartons are collated. The pick and place system positively places previously collated cartons into the case. Case flaps are closed using a series of stationery and servo-driven tuckers. Once the flaps are closed into place, the case is tape closed and discharged for further processing.
